COUN 5920 - Assessment Measures and Techniques This course is a provides students with a comprehensive understanding of assessment and measurement techniques relevant to clinical mental health counseling. Students will explore a variety of assessment tools used for diagnosis, treatment planning, and outcome evaluation within diverse populations. The course emphasizes the ethical, legal, and cultural considerations associated with psychological testing and assessment. Additionally, students will learn about the psychometric properties that underlie effective measurement tools, such as reliability, validity, and standardization. Through lectures, case studies, and hands-on experience with assessment instruments, students will gain the skills necessary to select, administer, score, and interpret assessment measures in a clinically competent manner. Prerequisites: COUN 5140 , COUN 5210 , COUN 5510 , COUN 5520 , COUN 5910 , and COUN 6190 . This course is offered fully online, asynchronously with faculty and student interaction through Blackboard.
