COUN 6970 - Internship I in CMHC This synchronous, online course is a clinical-experiential course designed to strengthen students’ skills and understanding of the practice of clinical mental health counseling through supervised practice. The course provides for continued development and practice of skills learned Residency I, II, and Practicum. In this initial Internship course, students will complete 300 hours of supervised practice, 120 of the hours must be direct service with clients. Additionally, students will receive feedback, based on recorded sessions and case conceptualizations, from the instructor and peers as well as group supervision from instructors and individual supervision from approved, site supervisors. Prerequisites: COUN 5000 , COUN 5140 , COUN 5210 , COUN 5510 , COUN 5520 , COUN 5530 , COUN 5910 , COUN 5920 , COUN 6120 , COUN 6170 , COUN 6190 , COUN 6350 , COUN 6400 , COUN 6520 , COUN 6910 , COUN 6960 . May be taken concurrently with electives. May not be taken with any Practicum or other Internship course. Meets synchronously weekly every week in 10-week calendar. Credits: 3
