COUN 6910 - Crisis and Trauma Counseling This course offers an in-depth exploration of crisis and trauma counseling within the field of clinical mental health. It prepares students to understand, assess, and intervene in crisis and trauma situations. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the theories, models, and techniques essential for effective crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. The curriculum emphasizes ethical considerations, cultural sensitivity, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treating individuals affected by trauma and crisis. Through theoretical learning, case studies, and experiential exercises, students will develop the skills necessary to support clients through crisis resolution and trauma recovery, promoting resilience and healing. Prerequisites: COUN 5140 , COUN 5510 , COUN 5520 , COUN 5910 , and COUN 6190 . This course is offered fully online, asynchronously with faculty and student interaction through Blackboard. Credits: 3
