HCA 3050 - Clinical Data and Electronic Health Records

The goal of this course is for students to develop a comprehensive understanding of electronic health record systems, their use in various clinical settings, and their potential for improving efficiency and enhancing the quality of care. Students will learn about the components of an electronic health record (EHR) system, data standards and information representation, emerging and specialized terminological systems, and technical issues in data integration and interoperability as well as common barriers to adoption.
