Elementary Education K-8 Licensure (non-degree)

Program Description and Learning Outcomes  

Students who wish to earn the M.Ed. with their licensure program should review the program requirements here: Elementary Education K-8 Licensure, M.Ed.  

*Please note all clinical experiences must be completed in New Hampshire.

Teacher Education Core


Students seeking the M.Ed. degree with teacher licensure may use ED 6400 in both the M.Ed. Core and Teacher Education Core.

Elementary Education K-8 Licensure Content Area


ED 5015, 5125, 5251, and 6000 must each be taken with ED 5920 for a minimum of one credit each.

Elementary Education K-8 Licensure Concentration


Students in the K-8 licensure program must declare a concentration. Courses may be completed through prior coursework and will be determined through a transcript review. Missing requirements must be taken in order for the student to be recommended for licensure. The concentration must be selected from one of the following options:

  • 16 credits in Mathematics
  • 16 credits in Social Studies
  • 16 credits in English
  • 16 credits in Science

General Education Core


Courses may be completed through prior coursework and will be determined through a transcript review. Missing requirements must be taken in order for the student to be recommended for licensure.

  • Composition
  • Civic Engagement
  • Creative Expression/Art
  • Humanities
  • Digital Media/Technology
