HIM 6050 - Cybersecurity in Healthcare

This course will introduce students to information security risks facing the healthcare industry. Students will learn how to better protect healthcare organizations and their patients’ data. Students will learn about recent security breaches, the impact of those breaches on healthcare organizations, and all the key players involved. The course also covers the evolution of healthcare IT, and the continuously evolving risk and regulatory landscape. Healthcare legacy systems are discussed as they create a special type of vulnerability for the industry. Credits: 4
