ED 5050 - The Development of Children: Birth to Age 8

This course takes an in-depth look at both normal and abnormal development from birth through age 8. Students will examine milestones and implications of not meeting those milestones when anticipated. The course will cover topics of physical, social, psychological, emotional, moral, and cognitive development as well as family and educational structures. Disorders of childhood (biological as well as psychological), learning differences, social/cultural, and socio-economics will also be explored. (3 credits)
