Program Description
The executive format Master of Science in Information Technology and Cybersecurity is designed to provide IT and business professionals with access to advanced training in the growing field of information security. Whether manager, programmer, database analyst or network engineer, all IT professions benefit from a proficiency in ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of data. With trillions of dollars budgeted for cyber defense, this degree increases the marketability of professionals in any IT position.
Learning Outcomes
Students who complete New England College’s Executive Master of Science in Information Technology and Cybersecurity program will be able to:
- Identify technologies and trends related to cyber security that have strategic value for an organization and manage the implementation of those technologies.
- Understand, design and implement security solutions related to database systems.
- Design secure web and mobile applications.
- Recognize the basic tenets of computer network security.
- Define secure corporate solutions utilizing cloud technologies.
- Implement responsive software solutions on multiple computer platforms.
- Learn cyber security techniques including cryptography and ethical hacking procedures.
- Manage Information security solutions for a variety of business and industry applications.
Residency-Based Hybrid Delivery
The program follows a 3 term per academic year structure, with mandatory 3-day residencies during each term. Students must attend all residencies to continue enrollment in the program.
In the period before and after the residencies, students will complete their course work online. Instructors will maintain regular ‘virtual’ office hours and will be available to assist students as required throughout the term.
