Description
Through the application of art historical methodologies in the classroom and museums, the Art History Minor prepares students for careers as artists, educators, curators, administrators, and psychologists. Art History Minors build connections across cultures, races and identities; as advocates for the arts and social justice, they help to shape public opinion, and play a vital role in transforming society.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze the formal qualities, iconography, and cultural contexts of global art, in written assignments, oral presentations, and class discussions.
- Utilize the resources of the NEC Libraries to conduct research on specific topics in art history.
- Describe the role of the artist in various cultures.
- Produce creative work that demonstrates understanding of artistic styles and techniques.
- Employ art historical terminology in oral and written assignments.
