Program Description
Animation design, digital illustration, stop motion animation, or 3D modeling? Be ready for these next-generation careers as you develop your visual organization through a combination of analog and digital design learning. Our Animation program prepares you for the 21st-century workplace by combining traditional hands-on experiences and cutting-edge digital tools and design platforms. You will gain competence and confidence in animation, mobile media, augmented reality, multimedia animation, and applied games as well as create a cohesive body of work that displays these concepts.
Learning Outcomes
Students will:
- Articulate the formal qualities of the various fine, entertainment and media arts.
- Show competence in one or more areas of the fine or media arts.
- Develop a cohesive body of work and articulate its concepts and methods of production.
- Write creatively and critically about the arts and understand research methods and principles.
- Read critcally and interpret art historical texts and art criticism.
- Understand and articulate the interrelationship between the arts.
- Describe the fine and applied arts in relation to history and culture.
- Analyze, interpret and evaluate their own and others art works.
- Apply the principles and concepts of the field(s) to new situations.
- Through experiential opportunities, engage with the professional world of art and design.
