ED 4000 - Methods of Teaching and Learning


This course provides students with an in-depth approach to unit and lesson design utilizing the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework in conjunction with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) tenants. Students will gain practical experience working in classrooms with a focus on teaching and learning while utilizing state and national standards as well as formative and summative assessment to guide instruction. Students will also begin to explore the state of New Hampshire Teacher Candidate Assessment of Performance (TCAP) policies and procedures in preparation for student teaching. A minimum number of field hours are required. Prerequisites: ED 1000  with a B- or better, ED 1020 , and ED 1030 . Students must register the semester prior to ED 4905 . Students must have successfully passed the Praxis Core exams.  Offered every fall and spring. Credits: 4
