HIM 5615 - Design of Database Systems

Students will learn to use SQL to collect and analyze data from relational database sources. The course will concentrate on the proper construction of the SQL queries, the basic access tool used in data dictionaries, data modeling, and data mining processes and procedures. Students will use healthcare-related datasets for various course activities. At the course’s completion, students will be able to build, query and manipulate database structures formatting critical information useful to making informed business decisions for healthcare environments.
