ED 6116 - Competencies, Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

This course emphasizes competency-based learning and how competencies become the driving force for lesson planning, instruction, and assessment. Students are exposed to a variety of curricula in K-12 schools and design meaningful learning opportunities using the Understanding By Design model to guide the development of lessons for a range of learners employing a variety of best practices. Assignments will center around application of content in an integrated curriculum that enhances student learning and uses authentic forms of assessment to determine student success. Credits: 4
