PS 1000 - Exploring the Mechanisms of Prejudice, Discrimination, and Social Justice


Based on the principles set forth in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this course explores the psychological, social and civic dynamics related to the mechanisms of stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination - with an emphasis on understanding and deconstructing barriers to social justice and the common good. By examining prejudice through the lens of social perception - this course promotes personal agency by providing strategies for self-reflection, critical reasoning and the application of responsible approaches to ethical, civic engagement in a diverse world.
