ILL 3510 - Concept Art

This course will explore the industry standard processes and techniques of the concept art field. Students will explore the process of designing characters and environments within a framework of specifications as if they are working at a real design firm. Concept art, like most other niches of the illustration world, is a business, and should be represented as a creative give-and-take between art director and artist. Strong emphasis will be placed on shape language, reference, drawing, and storytelling.
