HS 2010 - Colonial America

This course will introduce students to major scholarly debates that shape our understanding of American history today. By reading and analyzing cutting edge historical scholarship, students will learn how to evaluate and interpret major events in Colonial American history through their own eyes, and how to position their own arguments within those scholarly debates. Topics can range from the earliest colonial settlements at Jamestown and Plymouth Plantation through to the years before the American Revolution. Travel is required.
