This course offers an introductory survey of world history from Antiquity to the late Middle Ages, c. 12000 BCE to 1500 CE. We will explore the development of civilizations in the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, China, Greece, and Italy, and how they laid the foundations for the medieval era of European kingdoms, Middle Eastern caliphates, and Chinese empires.
