AHT 3080 - History of Graphic Design


Graphic design has great power and has both reflected and influenced our society and culture throughout history. This course identifies the key movements within the history of graphic design from the Graphic Renaissance through today and highlights how these movements have mirrored and changed the course of our society and the fields of graphic design. Lectures, images and texts will be used in the exploration of each of the following periods: Graphic Renaissance, The Industrial Revolution, Mid-Century Modernism, Late-Modernism, Post-Modernism and the Digital Age.
