AHT 3225 - Renaissance Art This course surveys the painting, sculpture and architecture produced in Italy and in Northern Europe from approximately the thirteenth through sixteenth centuries, situating the art within a discussion of its social and artistic contexts. The Humanism of Renaissance Italy and its connection to the art and culture of antiquity will serve as focal point for an exploration of civic responsibility and its expression in art and architecture.
