ED 6455 - Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and the Creative Arts in Early Childhood Education This course focuses on the cognitive development of children from birth to age 8 in the areas of mathematics, science, social studies, and the creative arts. Students will explore materials that can be used to stimulate and develop the young child’s logico-mathematical thinking. In addition, students will explore the creative process and how creativity can affect and enhance the development of the young child. Students will use their knowledge of child development to create learning opportunities in math, science, social studies, and the creative arts embedded in a well-rounded curriculum that incorporates a variety of learning styles. (3 Credits)
