ED 5451 - Storytelling in a Digital Age: Incorporating Media Literacy into the English Class At the heart of every media message is a story. Someone created that story, found a target audience, and delivered the message. This class will explore those stories told through multiple modes including: radio, news media, advertisements, film, print, as well as social networking communities. The guiding question of this course asks who is telling the story? and students will study the process media messages take from inception to delivery. Students will leave the course with a developed lesson plan to use in their own classrooms as well as a clear understanding of the digital tools available to implement that lesson plan. (3 credits)
