ED 7060 - Learning and Leading at the K-12 Level This course is designed to prepare future school principals to lead K-12 schools with a focus on instructional leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring student success. Through this course, students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to lead high performing learning environments effectively by creating equitable learning environments, implementing best practices in teaching and assessment, and leading professional development for staff. Emphasis will be placed on the role of principals as transformative leaders who support students, teachers, and the larger school community. Participants will explore the roles and responsibilities of a school principal in shaping school culture, advancing student achievement, and supporting professional growth for educators. The course emphasizes the importance of visionary leadership, ethical practices, and the ability to navigate complex educational landscapes to promote success for all students.
