HS 1120 - The Modern World

This course offers an introductory survey of world history from the late Middle Ages to the present day, c. 1492 CE to 2020 CE. We will explore the rapidly globalizing world beginning with the European discovery of the Americas, through the Renaissance, Reformation, and Revolutionary eras. And we will explore how capitalism, industrialism, and nationalism gave rise to Colonialism, two World Wars, and the Atomic Age. Credits: 4
