SU 4200 - Applications in Sustainability Sustainability - meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations - is achieved in a manner that is ecologically sound, socially just, and economically viable. To successfully engage the concept of sustainability, students must understand how the systems of which they are a part (social, economic, and ecological) function and are integrated. With this in mind, the Sustainability Minor culminates in an immersion experience designed to examine sustainability from a variety of disciplines including the sciences, business and management, and the humanities. Students will examine a sustainability related issue such as social and environmental justice, operationalizing sustainability, and assessing the effectiveness of action. The final product will be communicated as a poster presentation and written report or by other form of artistic expression (photography, painting, flash mob, etc.), or collection of published articles made available to the college community. Offered every other year in the fall. Credits: 2
