CAR 2110 - Experimental Comics

Experimental Comics will explore the visual storytelling styles that exist outside of the mainstream worlds of superhero comics, newspaper comic strips, and manga. Students will be exposed to a variety of storytelling voices and drawing styles that they may not be familiar with, allowing them to implement these into their personal work. Students will participate in lectures, in-class activities, studio work and written assignments that are intended to expand their concepts of the possibilities of comics storytelling. Projects will tend towards non-fiction / personal themes and include stories created from personal prompts, interviews, conversations, non-fiction stories and news items. Offered every other fall.
