BI 1610 - Science of Beer Brewing


Students will learn to recognize major features of beer and the processes that produce beer. Students will learn sanitation,  yeast microbiology and to brew their own beer. Topics of fermentation and spoilage will be examined. This course immerses students into the process of beer brewing and includes trips to breweries that will illustrate microbrewery and major brewing practices.   Prerequisites: must be 21 years old or older. Offered as needed. Credits: 1 to 4 Immersion course for both science and non-science majors.
