KI 3720 - Coaching Education Seminar

Coaching certification is a crucial issue in today’s sport education arena. This course will provide a comprehensive training for students interested in coaching from the youth to college levels. The content will focus on multiple aspects of coaching including physical training, sport psychology, risk management and legal liabilities, administrative roles within coaching, teaching technical and tactical skills, and ethics related to coaching. The required materials cover coaching competencies included in national certification coaching programs, such as the “American Sport Education Program” (ASEP). Prerequisites: Minimum of 30 credits earned. Offered every other fall. Credits: 4
