BU 4040 - Strategic Management This course explores strategic management and examines the tools used by firms to develop competitive advantage and long-term profitability. The purpose of this course is to apply the various skills, competencies, and discipline-based perspectives students have experienced during their undergraduate careers toward solving problems likely to be faced in their industries. Course requirements include participation in a business simulation that provides insights into evaluating a changing environment and how organizational structure, management risk-taking, and internal and external market forces shape the development of a successful strategic plan.
