BU 3540 (SM 3540) - Sport Marketing


This course will examine the role of marketing, services, and sponsorship in sport, recreation, and leisure services. Focusing on the various structures within the sports industry, students will study tactical uses of a marketing mix, for both for‐profit and nonprofit entities. Using a text, lecture, discussion, and projects, the class will examine marketing needs from a range of perspectives including large multi‐sport corporations to small recreation programs. Additionally, students will engage in a hands-on marketing project, the specifics determined by the needs of the selected entity. Prerequisites: BU 2510  Offered every fall. Credits: 4
