AHT 3120 - Art History Themes: Photography


Through in-depth readings, research, writing and presentations, students will explore selected themes prevalent in modern and contemporary photography. The course will focus on major artists and innovations of the medium and its impact on art and society. Students will learn the vocabulary of photography and study the technical innovations that have led us to the digital image of today. They will evaluate and discuss a wide range of photographs as documents, as aids to artistic production and as art works.  Offered every spring. Credits: 2 Seven week course. Offered as needed.
