AHT 3090 - Arts of Asia This course surveys the art and architecture of India, China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia, from prehistoric times to the twentieth century. We will examine representative works from major periods, including ritual bronzes, frescoes, Hindu sculpture and temples, Buddhist images, shrines, ink scrolls, calligraphy, decorative screens, arts of Zen, and ceramics. Social, political, and religious context will be emphasized in addition to analysis of style and technique. (4 Credits) Formerly AHT 309
