HCA 4060 - Privacy and Security in Health Informatics

The course is an examination of health information security and privacy issues in the current healthcare system, with special emphasis on Electronic Health Records. Students will evaluate methods to achieve privacy and security; discuss the role of security policies and procedures; and look into technical and non-technical solutions for achieving privacy and security.
